Frequently Asked Questions

Are there restocking or delivery fees, minimum buy requirements?

NO!  Every participating member purchases at their discretion.  You can leave, use multiple vendors, whatever you wish.  This is a cost reduction program using the pricing leveraged from a Group Purchasing Organization ["GPO"] which spends in excess of $35 BILLION.

Who are the GPO's?

The GPO's support 1800 long-term healthcare facilities and approximately 3,600 acute-care facilities.  These GPO's source all manner of goods and services from food to pharmaceuticals.  These items must be delivered ON TIME AND DEFECT FREE.  Hospitals and nursing homes can ill afford to have their deliveries late or damaged.  It is this critical level of service and quality EVERY council may expect to receive!

Does 'cheaper' goods mean less service?

NO!  As stated above, hospitals and nursing homes can ill afford to have their deliveries late or damaged.  EVERY council may expect to receive this critical level of service and quality.  These GPO's source all manner of goods and services from food to pharmaceuticals.  These items must be delivered ON TIME AND DEFECT FREE.  EACH AND EVERY COUNCIL WILL RECEIVE THE SAME ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND SERVICE AS THESE HEALTHCARE FACILITIES.

Do I purchase through AAG?

NO!  Once your council joins, you will purchase directly from participating suppliers at the highly leveraged terms of the GPO.  Essentially, every council has the same purchasing power as a Fortune 100 company. You will have access to vendor websites and may order over the phone.

However, AAG does provide FREE purchasing and auditing services.  The good financial health of our organization, the BSA, is very important to me.

May I pay by check?

YES!  Unless otherwise requested, your council will be invoiced directly.

Will I have a sales representative and can they visit my camp(s)?

YES!  As a member of the GPO you will receive the highest level of service and support.  Every camp is assigned a US Food Territory Manager - who works out of the distribution center supporting your facilities.  In addition, AAG is here to assist and ensure all your needs are met.

How many food deliveries will I receive per week?

A typical camp receives two deliveries per week.  If you should have special needs, your US Food representative will be able to assist you.

Is there a fee to join or an annual subscription fee?

NO!  The GPO's have an admin fee already loaded in their pricing.  AAG will ask for an admin fee on US Food activity only if it can provide material cost reductions.  Every pricing analysis has any and all fees loaded and referenced.

Is there a penalty to leave?

NO!  Again, this program is built to be 100% complementary to your business.  The program is built to reduce costs.  If for some reason you are not 100% satisfied, you may stop using it without any risk.
